Barry Matsumori

Barry A. Matsumori is CEO of BridgeComm, Inc. His extensive background in the mobile wireless and Space 2.0 sectors spans numerous leadership roles, among them serving as senior vice president of business development and advanced concepts at Virgin Galactic, senior vice president of sales and business development at SpaceX and nearly two decades at Qualcomm, where he was vice president of wireless connectivity. He has also worked with several early-stage technology companies in development and management capacities. Barry is an inspirational CEO that is leading this Denver-based company to change the way in which data is transmitted and received globally to address connectivity solutions for space, air, and ground communications. The company has achieved significant funding under Barry’s leadership and is changing the communications industry dynamics by developing advanced capabilities in optical communications. These developments are leading to product offerings in optical point to multipoint communications as well as the ability to offer optical beam steering without the need for a gimbal. All this achieved with data speeds reaching 100 gigabits. Additionally, Barry and the BridgeComm team are in partnership with Boeing and Nokia on advancing optical communications products. Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Arizona State University and earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona.

Rob Imig leads Palantir’s Edge Computing Team, where he focuses on the development and advancement of Palantir’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) projects. Most recently, his focus has been on the iteration and deployment of AI at the Edge whether that be on UAS, manned aircraft, boats, ground vehicles, or satellites. In this capacity, Rob and his team are working on moving compute to the edge to operate in low-latency and disconnected environments and ensure constant connectivity for their customers. Over the course of his 10 years at Palantir, Rob has led and worked on engineering teams in both the Commercial and Government businesses, allowing him to see a broad spectrum of problems and solutions firsthand.Rob is a resident of Washington, DC and holds a B.S. in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

He’s Argentinian and has lived in the United States at different times during his career. Mr. Giesso has led multi-country teams of 100+ employees in many countries occupying several management and sales positions in technology companies, including a 14-year tenure in IBM. Fluent in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese and German, Mr. Giesso holds an Engineer’s Degree from UCA and an MBA from San Andrés University, both in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Jeff Rex recently moved into a new role as VP of Business Development, Earth Intelligence after running Spire’s Weather team since early 2020. Prior to joining Spire, Jeff has held multiple roles spanning the weather, satellite, and aviation industries, most recently as VP of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development with Flyht Aerospace and Director of Engineering & Business Development at Panasonic Avionics Corporation, where Jeff led efforts in business and product development for advanced flight tracking, satellite communications hardware and services, and aviation weather solutions. Additionally, he worked on Panasonic’s business development and strategic innovations team to build strategic partnerships, support M&A activities, and help expand the marketability of existing products into alternative markets around the globe. Prior to his time at Panasonic, Jeff also served as VP of Engineering & Product Integration at AirDat, prior to its asset acquisition by Panasonic. There, he was responsible for airline, aviation and international government business and product development. Additional responsibilities included leading the engineering, certification, and product teams in the development and deployment of weather sensing and communications technologies on aircraft ranging from large transport category aircraft to Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). Earlier in his career, Jeff was Vice President of L2 Aviation where he built and subsequently led engineering and integration teams focused on the design, installation, and certification of flight critical avionics systems on commercial aircraft while concurrently developing additional business with new and existing airline customers. Jeff holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, a Master’s degree in Engineering Management, and a graduate certificate from IMD.

Through his stewardship, WeatherStream has created highly effective weather information for government and commercial entities. Gallaher is a trained geologist and resides in Boulder, CO.
